Social Sharing of Newsletters
There are 2 forms of social sharing. The sharing that the newsletter recipients can do on e.g. their own Facebook wall or page.
And the automatic social sharing for your company’s Facebook page and Twitter account, which is possible for you as a sender.
Both forms of social sharing share an anonymous version of your newsletter. A version without adaptations or, for example merged names of the recipients.
Automated sharing for you as a sender
You have probably heard it numerous times that the marketing messages must be synchronized between the various channels. With the automatic social sharing in MarketingPlatform, there are slightly fewer channels to think of.
The feature can automatically, if you choose it, post the newsletter that you send on either Facebook or Twitter. The prerequisite is that the contact list(s) that you send to is linked with your social media. It is done safely through the exchange of a so-called token, a secret unique code that MarketingPlatform creates when you connect a contact list with Facebook or Twitter.
After the contact list is attached, in the actual sending of the campaign, there will be an option to choose social sharing for one or both media. If you send the campaign immediately, MarketingPlatform will immediately post it on social media. If the campaign is scheduled for a later sending, we will of course first post the campaign at the time when the sending starts.
The recipients share a newsletter on social media
The newsletter recipients can, in one click, share it on numerous social media.
MarketingPlatform integrates with AddThis, which is pre-approved by all social media.
This only requires approval of post by the recipient, before the newsletter is shared with the recipient’s friends.
With Update Profile feature you can, on recipient’s card, check whether he or she has shared a newsletter on social media.
In this way, your company can reward the ambassadors who share your message.
By combining MailRating that looks at the recipient’s involvement in your campaigns and the amount of social sharings, you can have a unique knowledge about your company’s finest stakeholders.
Control over the message in the post
In order to give you, as a sender, maximum control over the social posting, MarketingPlatform has a social pre header, where the message that should be standard on the post can be written. It is also possible to upload a special image or use one from the newsletter.
When the recipients share the campaign, depending on the media, they will be able to change the text and the image. It is our experience that very few people adjust the proposed text.
The social preheader and the desired image are shown during the actual editing of the campaign.
