How to Integrate Adobe Commerce (Magento) with MarketingPlatform

MarketingPlatform can be intergrated with Adobe Commerce (Magento).

We have developed a standard integration for Adobe Commerce (Magento), allowing you to use the Adobe Commerce (Magento) Connector to transfer data from Adobe Commerce (Magento) to MarketingPlatform.

This integration closely links Adobe Commerce (Magento) and MarketingPlatform. Customers who sign up during a purchase will be automatically transferred to MarketingPlatform, provided they consent to receiving newsletters, for example. This ensures that data is always synchronized between your webshop and your email marketing program, MarketingPlatform.

The Connector allows you to synchronize your contact data between your webshop, CRM system, ERP, and your contact list in MarketingPlatform.

How to connect Adobe Commerce (Magento) with MarketingPlatform via the Connector

Our Connector allows you to synchronize your contact data between your webshop, CRM system, ERP, and your contact list in MarketingPlatform.

You can integrate with almost any system, but we have created standard setups for major systems. Simply enter your API key for the respective system to start synchronizing contacts.

You can find Magento in the list of Authentication & Standard Connections, where you can choose between Magento 1.9 and Magento 2.0/2.1.

The screen includes fields for connector name, system connection type (Magento 1.9 selected), domain URL, API resource endpoints (customers, customer+addresses, or custom endpoint), API key, secret, admin authorization checkbox, and buttons for authorization and testing the connection.

Enter your domain and choose whether to synchronize customer data only or both customer and address data.

If you have used a plugin or developed a custom overview of customer data in Adobe Commerce (Magento), select ‘add custom endpoint’ and provide the URL where the data can be accessed.

Adobe Commerce (Magento) integration with deep data for the One-to-Many feature

If you have a subscription with the One-to-Many feature that allows working with deep data, selecting ‘Add second endpoint’ will enable you to combine the chosen customer data with additional data, such as order information.

The deep data you choose to add can vary and be located in different places depending on your Adobe Commerce (Magento) setup. In most B2C cases, order data is of primary interest, and you can fill in the fields with our suggested values.

Enter your ‘key’ and ‘secret’ from your Adobe Commerce (Magento) shop, and you’ll be ready to proceed to the next page to map the fields from your Adobe Commerce (Magento) shop to the fields on your contact list in MarketingPlatform.

You can “map,” or label, both the flat and deep fields we can read from Adobe Commerce (Magento). You select them on the right side (see screenshot).

On the left side, you choose the corresponding field in MarketingPlatform.

If you haven’t created the fields beforehand, you can choose to have MarketingPlatform create a field for you. We record the name of the field and whether it’s a text field, number field, date field, etc., and create it automatically for you.

Select “Create One-to-Many field” on the left side, and you can delve into the deep data you chose on the first page.

When you do this, a window will appear where you can build your unique data model based on precisely the fields that exist in your Adobe Commerce (Magento) shop.

Simply drag the fields you want into the data model.

You don’t necessarily have to drag over all fields – it’s advantageous to select only those fields that make sense for you to work with, keeping the data model simple and clear.

Finally, just save the Connector, and it will synchronize contacts with flat and possibly deep data between Adobe Commerce and MarketingPlatform once every hour.

You can choose whether to synchronize only new contacts, exclusively update existing contacts, or filter contacts retrieved from Adobe Commerce.

For instance, you might only want to retrieve contacts with a specific permission field.
